This basic physics principle can sometimes be applied on a more macroscopic/social point of view.
Most of the time while I'm riding the waves of destiny either I know that I am going fast and don't know where I am; or I know where I am, but I have no clue as to what the speed is.
Career Options.
i- Research and Development - Start a PhD somewhere with a good research group
ii- Industry - Only if the money makes up the lack of adrenaline
iii- Teaching - Head off to the dark side of the moon and teach English to foreigners
iv- Art - Get a drummer monkey that will play by my side while I paint in the streets for a dime or two
v- Or maybe all of the above.
No place is home. No strings attached. My home is where I lay may head when the day is done.
Time to sleep. Working in the morning makes me feel alive.
